Frankenstorm Sandy decided to visit NYC and other states last week, thus, my older sister and I left for Boston without knowing when we were going back. We packed the essentials for 7 days, just in case, and we ended staying an entire week because of the horrible effects of the storm. Thank God, some of the essentials included all the materials and ingredients to make my 23rd birthday cake. So thanks to my genius preparation I had a cake for my very special birthday last thursday. Sadly, my best friends who were coming to NYC on thursday, had to cancel their tickets, and my celebration became a very simple one just because that horrible storm decided to come. However, I managed to make my beautiful cake and go to dinner with my sisters and some friends to celebrate this wonderful occasion. For my birthday cake I decided to do a starry-birthday. It was a red velvet cake with cream cheese filling, blue fondant covered with yellow and black glitter-dipped stars, and 2 sparkle candles. This was the first time I made a cake, and it took me three hours to finish, but it turned out amazing and extremely yummy. Hope you like it! {at least visually}
